Physician Assisted Suicide

13 States Have Legalized Physician Assisted Suicide

7 States Currently Have It On the Ballot

Recently Ilinois and New York legalized Physician Assisted Suicide.  Proponents have now focused their efforts on adding Minnesota to that list.  For the past 11 years, Minnesota has blocked the passage of an Assisted Suicide Bill.  We ask for your sustained effort for the 12th year.  Say no to:

SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS

  • NO mental health evaluation required

  • NO witness required

  • NO way to predict an accurate prognosis

  • NO safeguards for people with disabilities

  • NO doctor or nurse must be present

  • NO family notification required

  • NO safeguards against elder abuse

  • NO conscience protection for doctors

  • Denigrates the “standard of care” that doctors are expected to provide

We have real choices at the end of life, as well as effective ways of preventing suffering, such as palliative care… We respectfully urge faithful Catholics to act in defense of life and for better care at the end of life for all Minnesotans.”  (2024 Statement from the Minnesota Bishops)

Living Your Faith in Minnesota’s Civic Process

As Catholics, we are called to bring the light of the Gospel into public life and to promote the dignity of every human person. One meaningful way to live out this call is by taking part in Minnesota’s precinct caucuses—local gatherings where political parties begin shaping their platforms, selecting delegates, and supporting candidates.

Precinct caucuses are an important opportunity for faithful citizens to share their convictions, advocate for policies that uphold human dignity, and help guide the political process from the ground up. Whether you are new to political involvement or have attended caucuses for years, your presence and your voice matter.

To help you prepare, we are providing the Minnesota Catholic Conference’s resource:
