Director of Advancement

Business Manager

Job Qualifications: The Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC), the public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota, is seeking a joyful and entrepreneurial missionary disciple to serve as the Business Manager. The Business Manager assists in the mission of the Minnesota Catholic Conference by providing administrative support to the Executive Director and staff in carrying out the financial and personnel functions of the organization and its affiliated advocacy partner organizations, such as the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition. Primary duties include overseeing financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, financial reporting, and managing contracts; managing employee benefits; filing lobbyist disclosure reports and managing other regulatory compliance matters; and providing general administrative support as needed.

The position is part-time (approximately 20-24 hours based on an applicant’s skills, experience, and efficiency). Median wage range: $25-40/hour.

Minimum requirements: Proven problem solver; an evangelical and entrepreneurial spirit; seeks to support the work of the Church in the public arena; fidelity to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church; a bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in business manager role or related field; excellent communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including familiarity with some financial software); flexibility to respond to organizational needs as required.

Preferred qualifications: Four years’ experience in a related business manager or nonprofit administrative role; experienced bookkeeper/accountant; advanced skills using QuickBooks (or similar financial software), and filing IRS Form 990 reports.

Communication Intern

Job Qualifications: Are you looking to learn more about the intersection of your Catholic faith with policy and society, while building your communications skillset in a professional environment? Consider interning with the Minnesota Catholic Conference, the official public policy voice of the Catholic Church in Minnesota. We’re on the cutting edge of advocacy and communications and are looking for talented and enthusiastic interns to join us.

Communications interns will aid our efforts to communicate the Church’s social vision and advocacy efforts to a variety of audiences, including Minnesota Catholics, the state legislature, the media, and the public. Interns will contribute to the daily and ongoing communications needs of MCC, while also working on special projects in any number of the following areas: • Social media and brand management • Graphic design • Videography production & editing • Website design and development • Press relations • Writing and editing • Database and advocacy platform management Specific responsibilities and tasks will be adapted to meet the strengths and interests of the intern.

Qualified candidates will have an interest in and commitment to the Catholic faith, particularly as it applies to politics and society; will possess communications skills and abilities in at least some of the aforementioned areas (and a desire to grow in others); and will bring a track record of hard work, creativity, and positivity.

A stipend may be provided. Additional compensation may be offered based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. MCC is happy to work with your academic institution to ensure that this internship qualifies for class credit. Interns are expected to work a consistent weekly schedule, but time, hours, and duration are negotiable. Fully remote positions are available.

Pastoral Administrator

Job Qualifications:** The Father Francis Xavier Pierz Area Catholic Community is a vibrant four-parish community north of St Cloud, Minnesota. The pastoral administrator is a full-time salaried position that will assist the pastor and collaborate with staff in order to meet the spiritual and pastoral needs of the people and fulfill Christ's mission for souls and making disciples. Must have: A love for Christ and his Church *A strong prayer life and desire to grow in holiness *A zeal to help others grow in holiness and reach heaven *Great leadership skills *Proficient knowledge and of the Roman Catholic doctrine and tradition *Ability to teach and relate to people of all ages and diverse backgrounds and effective interpersonal relationship building skills *Excellent listening skills, with the ability to discern staff and volunteer gifts and needs *Strong planning and organization skills with the ability to manage project deadlines *Strong ability to collaborate with staff and parishioners *One to three years’ experience as an administrator or related field preferred *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Possess computer word-processing skills, software; databases, desktop publishing, data entry skills, etc.

Job Duties:** Assist Pastor in responding to the pastoral needs of our parishioners

  • Assist in the preparation and planning of funerals
  • Coordinate and nurture volunteers in the Homebound Ministry
  • Coordinate celebration of Sacraments, primarily by engaging & guiding volunteers to accompany parishioners as needed
  • Oversee the liturgical calendar to ensure that Rites and Sacramental celebrations occur smoothly
  • Participate in the OCIA journey by planning rites, practices, & celebrations *Manage and train volunteers *Assist pastor and collaborate with staff on parish scheduling, retreats, catechesis, operations and the general mission of the Church *Focus on evangelization and encountering individuals in to aid in their growth in holiness
